All porcelain tiles used in ceramic facade cladding must be rectified. Deviations in squareness and non-rectified tiles can cause visual defects in ceramic facade applications. Additionally, all porcelain tiles used on the same facade should be rectified to the same dimensions. For example, a 600×1200mm rectified tile cannot be used alongside a 595×1195mm rectified tile. Furthermore, the porcelain tiles used on the facade must be of the same shade or indistinguishably close in shade. Tone differences can lead to visual inconsistencies in ceramic facade applications. The warpage and concavity values of these tiles must also be below the TSE standards. The flatness of the ceramic tile is a primary consideration in facade manufacturing. If possible (though not mandatory), it is recommended to use fiber mesh-reinforced products for ceramic facade applications. The mesh helps prevent pieces from falling off in case of breakage due to an external impact, even on multi-story buildings. The fiber reinforcement mesh provides a durability similar to that of tempered glass applications.

For exterior applications, ceramic (porcelain masse) products can be selected with surfaces that are matte, glossy, or semi-glossy, according to preference. It is recommended not to use relief surfaces in very dusty areas. Apart from these surfaces, metallic surfaces, lappato, matte HDR, concrete matte, and wood series matte products are the most preferred options. Products with very white surfaces, such as super white, should not be chosen with matte or relief surface options.
